blackrican23
A source has revealed to figthnews.com that Yuriorkis Gamboa could give up his WBA interim super featherweight world championship and seek opportunities at lightweight or super lightweight. Another source indicates that there have been negotiations for Gamboa to face the undefeated lightweight Darley Perez in June. Initially it was thought Gamboa would face Juan Carlos Burgos and then possibly fight IBF lightweight world champion Miguel Vasquez. The interesting thing about all this information is that the same source indicated that former WBA interim super featherweight champion Bryan Vasquez could fight for Gamboa’s vacated interim crown in a May to July time frame with potential opponents being Frenchman Guillaume Frenois (WBA #2) and Nicaraguan Rene Gonzalez (WBA #6). Vasquez lost his title on December 31 when he was defeated by Takashi Uchiyama in Tokyo, Japan. The Costa Rican won his last fight in one round against Dominican Luis Ernesto Jose on February 28. http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/wba-super-featherweight-update-185311
