The 29-year-old “Baby Bull†battered the son of the longtime WBA welterweight champion until the bout was waved off in round six. Time was :55.“The Corpus Christi Kid†Jerry Belmontes (18-1, 5 KOs) bounced back from the first loss of his career with an eight round majority decision over former bantamweight title challenger Daniel Diaz (19-5-1, 14 KO’s) in a jr lightweight clash.
