Interestingly enough, the strength of the shoulders are supported by the strength of the back. Without a strong back, strong shoulders mean nothing. 

 

That being said, the speed bag, keeping your elbows above your shoulders at all time, is great for building shoulder strength and putting on some nice lean muscle mass!
