According to an article in the New York Times, HBO is officially leaving boxing after 45 years.

HBO Sports Executive Vice President Peter Nelson made the announcement that HBO was dropping boxing Thursday morning in a meeting with the HBO Boxing production staff.

“This is not a subjective decision,” Nelson said to the New York Times. “Our audience research informs us that boxing is no longer a determinant factor for subscribing to HBO.”

Sad, sad news. Brings a tear to my eye and an even bigger one to Uncle Jim's.

The old 24/7's of yesteryear narrated by Liev Schreiber will remain in my boxing collection and my heart forever.

Boxing making the transition from premium cable networks to internet subscription streams. Seems bad for the sport. Gonna be wierd seeing Jim Lampley on a DAZN stream.

One day (long after some people on this site have passed) young people will be in disbelief when i tell them that people used to prizefight with big pillows on their hands, and that HBO used to show the biggest & best selling fights in the country. Crazy stuff.

Inoue will be on the DAZN app this weekend

Srisaket Sor Rungvisai  is  headlining the main event in his country because he's a national hero .the first time ever, a boxing bout will take place in the Home of Martial Arts.

Yeah it was on HBO, but HBO doesn't exclusively use Goldenboy promotions, they also use Main Events,K2 promotions,Zanfer,Matchroom etc
