UFC light heavyweight champion Jon Jones failed a drug test ahead of his championship win over Daniel Cormier at UFC 214 last month in Anaheim, California, UFC president Dana White confirmed to ESPN on Tuesday.

White denied that the UFC has stripped Jones of the title, as TMZ reported.

In a statement released Tuesday, the UFC said Jones' failed test stemmed from an in-competition sample that was collected at his weigh-in July 28, the day before his fight against Cormier.

According to TMZ, which was first to report news of the failed test, Jones tested positive for the anabolic steroid Turinabol. White did not comment on the banned substance for which Jones tested positive.

But Fox Sports US reports McGregor could follow the Californian licence approval with applications for licences to box in states such as New York, Nevada and Texas — regular destinations for the biggest boxing events in the United States.

TMZ Sports reports that Diaz went to a bathroom outside the club and accidentally bumped into someone, who started running their mouth at Diaz. Diaz reportedly didn’t want to start any problems, but he was then jumped by four men.

“I didn't start it. They didn't know who I was,” Diaz told TMZ Sports.

Diaz defended himself against the men and the fight spilled out of the bathroom and into the casino. The fighter was reportedly being attacked with chairs and everyone involved was removed by security.

When it was all over, Diaz told the Bellagio that he didn’t want press charges because “they got the worst of it.”
