  1. Chávez vs. Travieso 3 Chávez Jr. vs Cázares Friday, Sept 25 at 10PM ET/ 7PM PT Boxing icon Julio Cesar Chávez returns to the ring, sharing the bill with his son, Julio Cesar Chávez Jr. The legendary Hall of Famer fights rival Jorge ‘Travieso’ Arce for the third time in an exhibition bout, while Chávez Jr. faces Mario Cázares. Friday’s event will feature the official Spanish-language fight call brought to you live and direct from the Grand Hotel in Tijuana, Mexico.
  2. Julio Cesar Chavez Jr will make his comeback in July against Brian Vera, with Mexico City the probable location for the bout. According to a report by Salvador Rodriguez, Julio Cesar Chavez Jr's ring return has been pushed back to July 13, and the Mexican fighter will face Brian Vera, most likely in Mexico City. Here's what Chavez had to say: The fight will be contested at a catchweight, with 165 pounds being called the likely limit. Chavez (46-1-1, 32 KO) hasn't fought since September, when he lost to Sergio Martinez in Las Vegas. He failed a post-fight drug test for marijuana, and was eventually given a ninth month suspension and a huge, $900,000 fine. He had planned to return in June, but the pushed-back date is probably, as Chavez says, a good idea, considering we're near May already, and a lot of eyes on June 22 will be on Brooklyn, where Adrien Broner faces Paulie Malignaggi.
  3. Ward said to RingTV “A fight between me and Chavez Jr. is more interesting. I think it’s what fans want to see more than a [sergio] Martinez right now. I think Ward needs to look other options because Chavez Jr. will likely never face Ward in a million years. Even if Chavez Jr. wanted the fight with him, and I seriously doubt that he does, Chavez Jr’s promoter Bob Arum would very likely nix the idea of the fight happening for a number of reasons. The number one reason why Arum would probably say no to Chavez Jr. fighting Ward is the simple fact that Chavez Jr. would get badly beaten and embarrassed by Ward in a one-sided fight where Chavez Jr. wouldn’t win one round. Chavez Jr. wouldn’t have the usual huge weight advantage that he’s accustomed to in melting down from the 190s to fight at 160. I really don't think this is a good fight for neither Chavez Jr is going to need a tune up come back easy win fight, and for ward this is a down grade fight
