Hughie Fury impresses again

Hughie Fury has won his seventh pro bout in Dundalk tonight, hammering the more-experienced Croatian Ivica Perkovic in five rounds.

The scheduled six-round heavyweight bout saw the 18-year-old prospect dominate throughout before the near-twenty-years-older man was pulled out before the last round.

The far-younger Fury took a while to prize open the defense of his cagey opponent at first but as soon as he switched his attention down-stairs it was all one-way traffic.

In what turned out to be the final round, Hughie opened up to pound Perkovic all around the ring. It appeared the tough Croatian would go down but he bravely struggled through to hear the bell to end the round. It was hardly surprising he didn't want to face another three minutes of punishment to the body as in the previous session.

Fury, younger cousin of Tyson, raises his record to 7-0 (5) as Perkovic slumps to 19-21 (14). The talented "Fists of Fury" only turned pro in March of this year and is clearly a man in a hurry.

He has already expressed his desire to break Mike Tyson's record as youngest ever heavyweight champion. Hughie turns 19 soon while "Iron" Mike was just over 20-years-old when crushing Trevor Berbick in 86'.
