Olympic gold medalist in the middleweight class in London, Japan’s Ryota Murata (1-0, 1 KO) will participate in his second pro bout against Dave Peterson (13-1, 8 KOs), a southpaw from Minnesota, in an eight-round bout in Tokyo on December 6. It was publicly announced in Tokyo today (Tuesday). Hard-punching Murata impressively decked his debut by demolishing current OPBF 160-pound champ Akio Shibata in two quick rounds this August to be newly ranked atop in the OPBF and Japanese middleweight categories.

Supporting is a WBC flyweight mandatory title bout where defending champ Akira Yaegashi, two-time world champ of Japan, will cope with official challenger and ex-WBC 108-pound titlist Edgar Sosa, a Mexican veteran, in twelve frames.

Sensational future world champ, unbeaten Naoya Inoue (4-0, 3 KOs) will engage in an OPBF 108-pound elimination bout with Philippine ruler Jerson Mancio over twelve. The 20-year-old Inoue wrested the national belt by whipping world-rated defending champ Ryoichi Taguchi in his fourth pro bout, and will try to gain the vacant OPBF throne (renounced by Japan’s Shin Ono) in his fifth.

Inoue’s younger brother Takuma Inoue, only seventeen, was formerly two-time national high school champ, and will make a professional debut beneath his brother’s OPBF engagement. Takuma, whose amateur mark was 52-5, 14 stoppages, said, “My brother took four fights to acquire the national belt, so I’ll try to win it within three pro bouts.†Good luck.

Also booked on the undercard will be an OPBF bantam title go with WBC#11 Hiroki Shiino to defend his regional belt against WBC#2 southpaw compatriot, ex-national 118-pound titleholder Ryosuke Iwasa over twelve heats.
