blackrican23 Posted November 14, 2013 Share Posted November 14, 2013 Heavyweight contender Tomasz Adamek complained of feeling ill on Wednesday and could be out of Saturday's NBC-televised bout with Vyacheslav Glazkov at The Turning Stone Resort and Casino, although the fighter is not likely to make a determination of his status until Thursday, according to Main Events publicist Ellen Haley.“Tomasz Adamek went to the doctor. He is not feeling well. He wants to wait until tomorrow to see if he feels better before making any decisions regarding Saturday's fight,†said Haley, assistant to Kathy Duva, president of Main Events. “We’ll know more tomorrow. We know that he doesn't feel good. He was exhibiting symptoms that were similar top dehydration. We haven't heard yet what it is, so he wants to wait.â€Also on the card is a bout between unbeaten lightweights Karl Dargan and Michael Brooks, light heavyweights Isaac Chilemba and Michael Gbenga, super middleweights Andy Mejias and Latin Mundy, and John Magda and Maurice Maro.“From our standpoint, we obviously have to work on other options, but I don't know yet what they are, or what is going to happen,†said Haley. “We'll have to wait until tomorrow for a definitive answer, but the show is not canceled.â€Duva issued a statement late on Wednesday.“This is live broadcast television. We cannot simply postpone. When we learned earlier today that Tomasz had gone to the doctor, we immediately began to discuss contingency plans with our partners,†said Duva, referring to venue as well as NBC. “If the worst happens, we will implement Plan B. Either way, we expect to make an announcement tomorrow afternoon.
