Wlodarczyk stops Fragomeni; Fonfara destroys Miller

In their third and final encounter, WBC cruiserweight Krzysztof “Diabolo†Wlodarczyk (49-2-1, 35 KOs) won when mandatory challenger Giacobbe Fragomeni (31-4-2, 12 KOs) could not continue after six rounds on Friday night at the UIC Pavilion in Chicago, Illinois. The 32-year-old Wlodarczyk dropped Fragomeni, twelve years his senior, with a left hook on a break at the end of round four. Fragomeni barely beat the count. The fight was stopped between rounds six and seven due to a cut under Fragomeni’s left eye. Time :01 of round seven. Wlodarczyk is now 2-0-1 against Fragomeni.

IBF #1 light heavyweight Andrzej Fonfara (25-2, 15 KOs) scored a spectacular second round KO over Samuel Miller (26-8, 23 KOs). Fonfara dropped Miller at the end of round one, then floored him for the count with a left hook in round two. Time was :58. Fonfara’s left hook was an immediate response to a rabbit punch from Miller.

Super middleweight Henry Coyle (19-2, 12 KOs) scored a six round unanimous decision over Skyler Thompson (12-10, 10 KOs). Coyle was credited with a knockdown in round six en route to a 60-53, 60-53, 59-54 win.

Jr welterweight Adrian “El Tigre†Granados (13-2-2, 9 KOs) scored a sixth round TKO over Carlos “El Guerrero†Velasquez (21-18-1, 11 KOs). The bout was stopped when Velasquez didn’t come out for round six after being dropped twice in the fifth.

Super middleweight Jonathan “Mantequilla†Gonzalez (17-0-1, 14 KOs) scored a fifth round TKO over Jaison Palomeque (14-8-1, 9 KOs). Gonzalez dropped Palomeque with a body shot in round one. Palomeque down again at the end of round two with another body shot. Palomeque floored again at the end of round four. Another knockdown in round five and referee Gerald Scott waves it off at 1:05.
