Mofo2
Cruiserweight titleholder Marco Huck suffered a fractured thumb in a sparring session and his defense against Mirko Larghetti, scheduled for March 29 at the Velodrom in Berlin, was canceled on Tuesday, promoter Sauerland Event announced. The entire card has been canceled, including the fight involving heavyweight David Price (16-2, 14 KOs), the 2012 ESPN.com prospect of the year, who was due to face Ondrej Pala (33-4, 23 KOs) on the undercard. It was to be Price's second fight of his comeback since back-to-back upset knockout losses to American contender Tony Thompson last year. Huck was originally scheduled to fight on May 3 but agreed to move up his defense to March 29 when stablemate and fellow cruiserweight titleholder Yoan Pablo Hernandez came down with a viral infection, which forced him to pull out of a defense against Pawel Kolodziej. "I cannot remember having this much bad luck with a single event," promoter Kalle Sauerland said. "First, we had to postpone the show due to Hernandez suffering from a lengthy illness and now it's more bad news with Huck breaking his thumb. In the end, it's all about the health of our fighters. I am sorry for all the fans who were looking forward to this show."
