In his debut at cruiserweight, Tony Bellew (21-2-1, 13 KOs) scored a twelfth round KO over Valery Brudov (41-5, 28 KOs) on Saturday night at the Echo Arena in Liverpool, England. Coming off a TKO loss to WBC light heavyweight champion Adonis Stevenson in November, Bellew dropped Brudov hard in round two and again at the end of round six. The 37-year-old Brudov, however rocked Bellew in round seven and a low blow by Brudov may have saved Bellew from being kayoed. Bellew slowly regained command and finally knocked out Brudov with a left hook in the twelfth round.

IBF #1 welterweight Kell Brook (32-0, 22 KOs) scored an eighth round TKO over Alvaro Robles (17-3, 15 KOs). After a slow start, Brook turned up the heat and battered Robles in round seven. Robles’ corner threw in the towel to protect their fighter after more abuse in round eight. Time was 1:35. The Mexicali fighter was deducted a point in round four for a low blow.

After Rocky Fielding weighed in nearly seven pounds heavy, only Charles Adamu was eligible to win the vacant Commonwealth super middleweight title on Saturday. It wasn’t to be though, as the unbeaten Fielding (18-0, 10 KOs), who lost the title on the scale, scored a sloppy one-sided twelve round unanimous decision over Adamu (21-6, 15 KOs). Scores were 120-108 on all three cards.

Unbeaten jr middleweight Neil Perkins (6-0, 1 KO) handed Erick Ochieng (14-4, 4 KOs) his third straight loss. Perkins was credited with a knockdown in round two (looked more like a slip) and went on to win an eight round decision by a 78-76 score.

Lightweight Kevin Mitchell (37-2, 27 KOs) scored a second round TKO over Mikheil Avakyan (21-12-4, 8 KOs). Mitchell scored two knockdowns in a one-sided fight. Time was 2:07.

Not seen the fight but heard Bellew wasn't very good and was once again chatting shit about his conqueror Nathan Cleverly. Surprised "big punching" Tony took so long to get rid of the weak chinned Valery

Hopefully, Tony gets his shot at Huck, so we can watch him back-peddling before getting sparked. Tony is decent but falls short at World Level, as his record proves.

spot on

only thing more painful then jim watts commentary is hearing Bellew talk about himself

At this point I agree Huck would overpower Bellew, both physically and by the weight of the punch....CW will be a much more difficult division for him to be competitive in!!
