Former world heavyweight challenger Eddie Chambers has admitted claims he was to fight Hughie Fury on the undercard of Tyson Fury-Dereck Chisora was a prank.

Chambers, the latest edition to Team Fury, celebrated his birthday with an impressive win on Saturday, stopping Tomas Mrazek with 25 seconds remaining of their six-round contest at Newcastle's Metro Radio Arena.

The 32-year-old, who faced Wladimir Klitschko in 2010, tweeted on April 1 that he would be stepping into the ring with Hughie Fury at the Phones 4U Arena in Manchester - only to announce 24 hours later the whole thing was a prank.

Chambers revealed the joke on Twitter, stating he would "never" fight Hughie Fury and suggested his new team member was "family."

Hughie Fury is set to meet Sunderland's Danny Hughes at the Copper Box in east London on April 12, a rescheduled bout after Fury's doctors advised him to pull out of their March 22 showdown.

The 19-year-old's relentless schedule since turning pro has seen him go unbeaten in 13 fights since making his professional debut in March 2013, most recently with an impressive second-round TKO against American Matt Greer in February.

Hughie is a good fighter and I am hoping he progresses through with a little more class than Tyson has...he is a little more respectful at the moment to his opponents and goes about his work quietly!!
