Mofo2
Former three-division world titleholder Adrien Broner won a unanimous decision over Carlos Molina on Saturday night at the MGM Grand in Las Vegas, Nevada. Despite universally trumping the 28-year-old Molina (17-2-1-1, 7 KOs) in a 10-round bout at 140-pounds, Broner (28-1, 22 KOs) started slow and never impressed in the squared circle. Nevertheless, the fragile windbag managed to create a stir speaking with Showtime's Jim Gray after the match. "I've beaten Africans and I just beat the f--- out of a Mexican," said Broner, 24, who once gleefully flushed $20 bills down a toilet and posted the video on social media. Molina, who compiled an impressive amateur record of 105-20, hadn’t performed since suffering a 10th round TKO to Amir Khan in December 2012. Handcuffed by feathery fists, Molina had little chance to trump Molina following such an extended hiatus from the ring. With blinding speed and greater overall skills, Broner should have more conclusively handled Molina. Although a victor, Broner didn’t “beat the f--- out of a Mexican.†Ultimately, “The Problem†is, Adrien Broner again proved that he is far from an elite prizefighter.
