Mofo2
Breidis Prescott’s status continued sliding when Roberto Garcia beat him in Chicago on Friday night.Garcia won the ten-round welterweight bout on points – 95-94, 96-92 and 96-93 – to improve his record to 36-3, including 23 wins inside the distance.Prescott, who had knocked out Amir Khan in the first round and had beaten WBA champion Richard Abril, just could not keep the 34-year-old Texan from outscoring him. He did knock down Garcia in the ninth round but was unable to score the knockout he needed by then.Garcia, who had stopped former title contender Victor Cayo in the sixth round on May 1 after beating Norberto Gonzalez on points over ten rounds, remains one of the most formidable fighters in the division.
