Michael Miller, the legal adviser to junior middleweight contender James Kirkland (32-1, 28KOs), confirmed to BoxingScene.com that a deal has been reached for a showdown with Gabe Rosado (21-8, 13KOs) on November 8th at the Boardwalk Hall in Atlantic City. The agreed upon weight is 156-pounds plus one.

The fight will open up the HBO broadcast, which is headlined by a highly anticipated light heavyweight unification between Bernard Hopkins and Sergey Kovalev. The event is co-promoted by Golden Boy Promotions and Main Events.

"As far as we're concerned the deal is done," Miller told BoxingScene.com.

Miller is waiting for the signed contracts to come in. Kirkland was last seen in action last December, at the same venue, stopping previously undefeated Glen Tapia in six rounds. The boxer is promoted by SMS Promotions, which is owned by rapper Curtis "50 Cent" Jackson.

Rosado was last seen in the ring, well it was actually a pit, on August 16th when he knocked out Bryan Vera in the headline bout of the BKB [big Time Boxing] Pay-Per-View. Kirkland stopped Vera in eight rounds, in a boxing ring, back in November of 2008.
