GRIM
Note the text in RED World Boxing Council President Mauricio Sulaiman is adamant that negotiations will be concluded between heavyweight champion Bermane Stiverne and mandatory foe Deontay Wilder despite several delays in the proceedings. The two talented fighters have expressed their desire to sign on the dotted line for the much-anticipated clash, although reaching a final agreement that suits all parties has been far from easy going over the past few months. An initial injury to Stiverne, coupled with two purse bid delays, have meant that the WBC have been unable to conclude a successful outcome - although an upbeat Sulaiman is sure that an official announcement is not too far away."At the moment, there is not too much I can say as parties are still concluding their negotiations, but since this case has become very much public and so many people taking opinions, I would like to assure everyone that I have all the elements and that I have full confidence that a deal has been reached for the satisfaction of all parties," Sulaiman exclusively told World Boxing News on Thursday.Fans are keen to see Wilder, 28, tested by a live opponent after racking up 32 straight knockouts inside four rounds and many believe 35 year-old Stiverne is the man that could do it.Stiverne took care of Chris Arreola with consummate ease in May when claiming Vitali Klitschko's vacant belt but may well find himself going into his maiden defense as the underdog come the spring of 2015.
