blackrican23
Unbeaten WBC bantamweight champ, Japanese southpaw Shinsuke Yamanaka (21-0-2, 16 KOs) will put his belt on the line against official challenger Suriyan Sor Rungvisai (37-5-1, 16 KOs) from Thailand tomorrow (Wednesday) in Tokyo, Japan. Yamanaka, making his seventh defense, has iced the latest six men with only an exception of a decision win over Vic Darchinyan (then still fresh and ferocious) in his initial defense in April 2012. The lefty upright stylist, whose straight left is a trademark haymaker, is gunning to score his seventh straight within the distance with his throne at stake. Suriyan, former WBC 115-pound ruler, forfeited his first belt to Yota Sato here in Tokyo in March 2012, but has registered seventeen victories straight in two years since to zoom up to the WBC top rank. Yamanaka is a prefight favorite, but Suriyan boldly predicts, “I’ve a secret to solve Yamanaka’s southpaw style.†Whether it may be secret or not, it will be proved against the formidable champion Yamanaka tomorrow.Today there was a weigh-in ceremony, where both of them successfully passed it unlike Marco Antonio Rubio. Yamanaka tipped the beam at the 118-pound class limit, while Suriyan, seven years his junior at 25, scaled in at 117.25.The WBC officials are as follows:referee Laurence Cole (US); judges Malcolm Bulner (Australia), David Sutherland (US), Jack Woodburn (Canada); supervisor Frank Quill (Australia). On the undercard, formerly two-class world champ Takahiro Ao (26-3-1, 12 KOs) will square off against two-time titlist Juan Carlos Salgado (26-3-1-1NC, 16 KOs), Mexico, over ten frames under the 137-pound catchweight contract. This card is presented by Akihiko Honda’s Teiken Promoitons at Yoyogi Second Gymnasium. http://www.fightnews.com/Boxing/yamanaka-to-defend-wbc-118lb-belt-against-1-suriyan-tomorrow-265468
