Super-middleweight contender George Groves has been going at it with Matchroom Promoter Eddie Hearn via social media ahead of an official announcement tomorrow regarding old rival James DeGale.

Matchroom are expected to confirm that Carl Froch has vacated the IBF title, whilst also outlining a clash for DeGale which Groves says will happen on April 25th in what Hearn describes as a 50/50 contest – something 'The Saint' has baulked at.

"Wow, Eddie Hearn can talk some waffle," said Groves via his SportLobster account. "James DeGale in a 50/50? 10 steps forward and I've took 10 steps back."

Groves continued: "I haven't lost a round in my last 2 fights. James stopped a fat out of shape dude who showed up with no trainer. When I box I sell out arenas or stadiums. When James boxes he sells out his soul. I don't need to bow to you 'Sir' Eddie. I'm following my path and I'm not your whore.

"I'm happy to work hard for it, to gamble with it and to be patient with it. Make me a sensible offer."

Hearn then replied back by pointing out that DeGale will get 50 percent of the purse in what could turn out to be a shot at the vacant IBF title, whist mandatory Groves will only get 25% as the challenger to current champion Anthony Dirrell's WBC crown on US soil.

More words were exchanged between the pair before Hearn eventually told Groves that he can wait for any future fight with DeGale and ended the conversation by reminding the WBC silver title holder what happened in his two meetings with Carl Froch.

A press conference for DeGale is scheduled to reveal more details of his next move on Tuesday
