David Haye has been placed in line to contest the World Boxing Organisation heavyweight title fight in April 2017 after talks over the proposed Anthony Joshua-Wladimir Klitschko super-fight on Dec 10 appeared to break down on Thursday night.

Haye, the former World Boxing Association heavyweight champion, will face the winner of New Zealander Joe Parker and American Andy Ruiz whose WBO contest in New Zealand on Dec 10 is expected to be announced imminently.

The winner of that fight will be ordered to face Haye in the UK within 120 days of the contest, Telegraph Sport understands.
