blackrican23
www.boxingscene.com Miguel Cotto's Adviser Confirms Talks With Freddie Roach Gabriel PeñagarÃcano, the legal adviser to former three division world champion Miguel Cotto (37-3, 30KOs) has confrimed that there have been preliminary discussions to establish a working relationship with trainer Freddie Roach, who trains Manny Pacquiao and Julio Cesar Chavez Jr. Cotto had trained for his last few fights with Cuban coach Pedro Diaz. Roach was in Pacquiao's corner when he stopped Cotto in the twelfth round in 2009."Yes we have had conversations with Roach, but nothing is concrete. It could be Roach or it could be another coache. But I know Freddie and I talked to him a lot with him," said PeñagarÃcano to Carlos Narvaez. The adviser denied the reports which are circulating in Puerto Rico, regarding Cotto's negotiations to face WBC/WBA 154-pound champion Saul "Canelo" Alvarez on September 14th. Golden Boy Promotions are trying to make a fight between Canelo and Floyd Mayweather Jr. but very few believe Mayweather will fight on September and expect Cotto to be the first choice for Canelo."Miguel has not made a decision on when he'll return, nor have we negotiated to fight Canelo," PeñagarÃcano said.
