Mofo2
Former Amir Khan opponent Paul 'Dudey' McCloskey almost choked on his Rich Tea biscuit whilst watching coverage of Lucas Matthysse v Lamont Peterson over the weekend - as his old foe explained his hopes for a fight with Floyd Mayweather to Sky Sports' Adam Smith. The 33 year-old, who was controversially stopped in six rounds against the one-time king of 140lbs in 2011, had been hopeful of a rematch with Khan until the Bolton man decided to move up and call out Mayweather, a move that McCloskey thinks is a joke in itself."I was cringing last night hearing Sky Pundits and Amir Khan himself embarrassingly tried to convince everyone and themselves how he has a chance of beating Floyd Mayweather. He struggled against Julio Diaz, never mind his defeats to Lamont Peterson and knockout battering to Danny Garcia. Am I missing something?" McCloskey questioned.Khan, 26, is returning to the ring in December on the back of what may well be his final UK appearance in defeating Diaz on points last month and has his sights on a world title bout with IBF welterweight title holder Devon Alexander before the pound for pound king next year.McCloskey on the other hand is awaiting his next move after scoring a decision win over Manuel Perez. The Irish southpaw had previously lost to DeMarcus 'Chop Chop' Corley in a shock ten round stoppage on home soil, although is still highly-ranked by the WBA and has only ever lost to ex-world champions.Source: WBN
