Mofo2
Former amateur champion Hughie Fury is wasting no time in his bid for heavyweight stardom. Just seven days after blowing away mismatched Ladislav Kovarik on the James DeGale bill in Kent, the 18-year-old takes on another Czech Republic fighter in experienced Tomas Mrazek this Saturday.Poor Kovarik, short, stocky and 38-years-old, stood no chance and was down twice before the inevitable finish at 1:37 of the opening round. Twenty-years-younger Hughie, known as “Fist of Furyâ€, put on a punch-perfect display on a show televised by Channel 5. The Mrazek bout is scheduled for six rounds and takes place in Norwich. At 32-years-old and a veteran of 53 pro bouts, tough Mrazek will be a solid test for the 6’6†cousin of Tyson Fury. The undefeated Hughie is now 5-0 (4) after turning pro just two months ago after a successful amateur career. The young puncher boxed for England and won last year’s Youth World championships before making his pro bow in March this year. Older cousin Tyson boxed cagey Mrazek back in 2009 and was taken the six-round distance in his ninth contest. The durable Prague man has also been in with the likes of Marco Huck, Mike Perez and Carlos Takam and is easily the younger Fury’s toughest test to date. After stopping his fourth opponent in his fifth contest on Saturday, Tyson revealed that his promising cousin is aiming to become the youngest heavyweight champion in history. That record currently stands at 20 years and four months when Mike Tyson beat Trevor Berbick 27-years-ago to lift the WBC title to begin his reign of terror and bring excitement back to the division.
